This summer was the most rewarding of my life. Going on our first tour came with many moments that I will carry with me forever. Playing the historic Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH. Getting welcomed back home by a crowd full of friends and family at Lebanon Opera House. Meeting Marie and Lenny of L&L Camera in Huntington, NY who were kind enough to gift us a vintage Defur Super 8 camera when our’s had been damaged. Fishing our frisbee out of the storm drain at the Hi Ho Hotel in Westport, CT. I met new characters each day, some who had never come across my songs and some who knew them better than I do. It’s a privilege to go live these experiences and share them with some of my closest friends.
This summer also came with a slew of challenges. Our van running out of AC on the drive from Long Island to Scranton, PA on a balmy 94º July 4th day. Our failed attempts to repair or switch out the van throughout the rest of the trip. The Dog Mountain show getting canceled after flash floods hit the central regions of Vermont. Voice cracks. Many well-timed voice cracks. And plenty of other challenges that I have probably already forgotten or blocked out in some form or another. While I can’t say I wouldn’t have had it any other way, the roadblocks we faced can only lead to stronger runs in the future.
